Excellent versatile brush

My dogs love being brushed with this. The two different brushes in one is very handy for me, as I have one dog with very short hair and one with long hair. They both come running to get brushed when they see me with it. I have an end table next to my sofa where I keep this brush and last night, my r at terrier jumped up on my lap and pointed with her nose and tried to open the drawer. I took out the brush and said, is this what you want She turned facing me and put her head up so I could brush her neck and chest, which she seems to particularly like. We've gone through a number of different brushes, but this has become our go-to brush for our Golden Doodle. It's worth noting that Doodles require some heavy duty (and frequent) brushing, so it was important to have one that is decent. Not a good brush for young dogs

Very nice brush on the whole EXCEPT for the gel-filled handle. One tiny puppy tooth puncturing it (pretty much inevitable with puppies, whose mouths are always thrashing around), and it spews out gel, which I am sure is not a very safe substance for young dogs.

UPDATE: Loved it until it disintegrated

While brushing out my dog recently, to my utter shock and disbelief, realized that this brush and the slicker brush that I purchased from you just had both completely disintegrated and were falling apart. I loved these brushes and don't understand how they could both fall apart after only a few uses . I have photos that I can upload if you need proof. I am so disappointed that this happened as I really liked both brushes. Caution: Handle leaks TOXINS

This is a very average brush. A Metal bristle fell out the first week a second metal bristle fell out two weeks later so longevity is not the products strong suit. The best part of the brush is the plastic bristles which is perfect for grooming the more sensitive areas of a dogs body like the belly and face.My one star is based upon the handle leaking. The handle is made up of a silicone like gel, not sure of the substance. I could see how a dog could byte the handle if you put it on the floor when you groom the nails with a grinder or hair drier. but this one leaked also from the end cap. The leak is very very slow, so it was a pattern over time, and hence my ability to return the brush was too late because we ordered the product several weeks before the arrival of the puppy which did not need brushing at the get go. So I am stuck with a toxic poorly designed brush where each time I pull it out of the grooming supply box the handle is covered with a gooey semi-dried gel that has to be rubbed and rolled off. Hence I do not recommend you purchase this product.The gelled handle is a stupid design flaw. Read more

Very durable!

Very expensive, but good brush. The only thing I do not like about it, is the squishy gel handle. Dirt and hair stick to the handle and it does not hold a good shape. The handle and body are all plastic construction. That it plated plastic you are looking at, not metal.May 2016 update. The brush is now 10 months old and is as good as new. I still do not care for the sticky gel handle cover that attracts dirt.April 2017. DURABLE. It is still working. The rubber that holds the pins is showing minor signs of stress. No loss of pins yet. Used on several dogs. Stored outdoors continuously in the shade. I still hate the gel handle. I see the price dropped since I bought it.February 2019, the rubber holding the pins is cracking significantly, but the pins are intact. So, I ordered a replacement. Most durable brush I have ever owned. Still hate the gel handle though. Read more

Nice BIG Go Pets Brush

First off, if I could give this item half stars I probably would give it 4 1/2. It seems very sturdy, has good build quality, when new feels really nice in your hand and overall seems to be a solid brush. But since I am not really feeling that it is a full 5 stars I had to give it 4. I have been fol lowing the instructions on using the bristle brush side first and then the pin brush side. There seems to be a difference in the look of the coat on my Havanese (small dog) and in my opinion it is to the better. My dog is not fully liking this brush but then again to be fair he is not too keen on any brush. He does put up with it and is getting better and better with this brush day by day, witch is surprising since with most he just puts up with for a certain amount of time and that's it. But with this one it seems to be growing on him. The handle of the brush is large, a good thing for me since I have large hands. The handle has a forming silicone gel that to begin with feels grate but after you get dog hair on it, it's very hard to clean off unless washing it with water or other liquid. Now I like having a dry handle when I brush my dog so washing it halfway through is not really an option since just about any and everything stick to the silicone and it is worse wet. Plus drying it with a towel usually leaves lint on the handle so it sort of needs to air dry. This is the main drawback to the brush... But.On the other hand the silicone forms very nicely to your hand. My mother has arthritic hands and she commented on this brush feeling comfortable so it does have really good use regarding the silicone handle. Now if there were just a good easy way to clean it rapidly without wetting it! Then this brush might just be close to perfect.Overall I am satisfied with this brush, I am going to keep using it and I am happy with my purchase. To give some positive criticism... I am not a big fan of the small chrome accents I would have just preferred them gray or black personally. A small and large size offered would be nice even a small, medium and large I DO like the hole in the end of the handle so for those that wish to hang the brush up can do so easily. Now just come up with a good way to clean the handle fast without wetting it and having to wait for it to dry and I will gladly buy more and tell all my friends about your products. Read more

So far, it's the best

I have tried many pin brushes to remove old fur from my Newfies, and thus far this pin brush seems to work best. The pins really grab the fur that needs to be removed, without causing any noticeable annoyance to the dogs. One of the biggest problems I've had with other pin brushes is that the pins c ollapse into the supporting surface (or fall out), but thus far the pins in this brush have held up. The seller offers a lifetime guarantee on this product, and time will tell if I need to invoke the guarantee. (Stay tuned for future updates to this review.) My only negative comment on this brush is in regards to the gel-pack grip - I would prefer a non-deformable plastic grip. The price is high (compared to other pin brushes), but if it keeps performing as it has thus far (and the lifetime guarantee is indeed valid), then this brush is well worth the money.Update on Sept. 29, 2019: After using this brush for 6 months on two Newfies (during their heavy shedding season), the pin brush never gave up, until the handle broke. Gorilla glue solved that problem. Amazingly, during that time not one single pin collapsed into the pin support cushion. In my previous experience with other pin brushes I have gone through 3 brushes in the same period of time - so this brush is indeed well worth the money. Read more

Nice Quality Effective Brush

Very nice quality two-sided brush for my cats. I ordered it primarily because the metal bristles have rounded tips so they don't scratch the cats' delicate skin. All of my 5 cats like the brush. Only reason didn't give five stars is the fur seems to scatter / fly around in the air when brushing, alt hough some of it is caught within the brush itself. It's kind of large, but that's okay. Has a soft flexible rubber handle, comfortable. For variety, I also ordered a smaller round tip, rubber bed brush in wood. (different manufacturer) Glad to have both. Thanks Amazon ! Read more

Comfortable but leaks goo

When I got this item I was impressed with the comfort grip and the amount of hair it got off my long haired dog. I used it once and put it down and came back a short while later to goo oozing out of the handle. I attempted to contact the seller to no avail. I do not recommend this item as I cannot t ell how this failed and it is likely to continue to do so. Read more
