Annoyed With This Product
2/ 5stars

I am annoyed with this product. About every 4th package there is some kind of production monkey problem and the top part that you normally unroll first finds itself in the very bottom of the roll. You have to unroll the entire package to get to the end so you can tie it up right. Pretty Lame actuall y and if there was a better alternative I would run to it and tell everyone else to go there too! Also, these things are expensive for what they are or rather what you get.. a plastic cartridge full of a roll of plastic that fails to unroll correctly 30+ of the time... which makes them even more expensive when you spread the cost. Anyway, the anti-odor part works well for big stinky cat and there ya go ! Read more

It's Wonderful
5/ 5stars

We've been using a Litter Genies for years, as we have 5 cats in the house. At times we've had trouble being able to get refills as we need them. Invariably, something happens we run out of refills and fail to get more before the next time we need to insert another cartridge into the Litter Genie. T he most we could pick up in the store was a 4-pack, for around 40. We were able to get 12 from you for 72, thus cutting the cost from 10 - 6 each, a significant savings for us. Read more

Convenient and stops odors
5/ 5stars

I have two larger cats (half Maine Coon), and one refill lasts about one month for me - which is in line with what the manufacturer suggests (1 cat/2 months) - using scoopable litter (Precious Cat is the BEST. http://amzn.to/1HWSbTd)The thickness of the bag/liner(s) and the construction of the unit itself have eliminated any unpleasant smells. Before, I was using plastic grocery bags that would need to sit until they went out to the trash, being smelly. I switched to the Litter Genie about two years ago and certainly don't miss the odor. It's also nice to have to dispose of only ONE bag of waste per week instead of several smaller bags - whereas before, I'd scoop daily and empty into a grocery bag, tie it off, etc. with this you just scoop into the Litter Genie pail, pull the handle to drop it into the bottom, done - pull the bag once a week and you're good to go.Let's face it - a Litter Genie is kind of a luxury item when it comes to cat care. It isn't *necessary*, but it really is nice to have, especially if you live in a small space like an efficiency apartment. The downside is that the liner/bag refills can be pretty expensive, and depending on where you live, hard to find. I'm willing to pay a little for the convenience it affords me, but 7.99+ per cartridge elsewhere was more than I cared to spend. It is likely more cost effective to use something like 8gal trash bags, but I'm at a point where I'm willing to spend a few extra dollars for the convenience of it. Perhaps I'll try that method for science, but for now I have about a year's worth of cartridges to get through. Read more

Works great - usually.
4/ 5stars

Having a Litter Genie has really helped eliminate the odor associated with litter box cleaning while simultaneously eliminating the need to make nightly trips outside to the garbage cans to dispose of said litter. When the refills work right, they are very easy to install. The only issue I have had - and this has happened three times now - is that the free end is not always easy to locate. On the three aforementioned occasions, I had to pull out nearly all of the liner to find the free end and then maneuver the excess back into the plastic enclosure. Not fun at all. But for that, I would have given this four stars. Read more

too many cartridges with faulty manufacturing - stay away from litter genie
1/ 5stars

I am no longer purchasing these and you should not as well. Used to be years ago you would get maybe one of these plastic cartridges that was wrap inside of itself - making it double thickness and half the useable length. Tonight I have reached the last straw. I have now opened 4 of these faulty car tridges in a row and that is the last for me. Right now I'm looking at different products to use for my cats waste but I will be getting rid of the Litter Genie. I have had it for years and this problem has been around since the beginning but it has gradually been getting worse and now it has come to an end for me. I will not keep shelling out money for faulty product. I have found that plastic grocery bags work as well but not without their own set of problems. I will be looking for an alternative. To prospective buyers I say - do more research - this is a good idea but a lousy workmanship. You will be wasting your money. Read more

Ripoff
1/ 5stars

I have a love-hate relationship with this product, really mostly hate by now.Long-time user, totally frustrated by the effort to waste these, manufactured into each cartridge. I spend a solid 5 to ten minutes with each cartridge, teasing out the bag and trying to find the free edge. In half of these , I end up pulling out most or all of the bag before I can find the free edge. I then have the choice of spending twenty minutes trying to feed the excess back in, or just throwing out the cartridge and trying again with a new cartridge. It would be a simple matter to attache a small tab, or a colored edge, to help the user identify the free edge. However, given the recurrent experience over several years, I have become convinced that some smart-ass in corporate has figured out this antagonizing method to boost sales. Its clearly not worth my time any more. I don't save any time over using simple plastic bags, and probably harm the environment less with simple plastic or paper bags that aren't repeatedly wasted.A big thumbs-down. Read more

I am in love with my Litter Genies!
5/ 5stars

I received a case of (6) two-packs for a total of 12 cartridges. I liked the item of ordering in bulk. Since a case arrived, there was no unused space and I left the cartridges in the same box for storage. I didn't feel wasteful like do with other shipments when they arrive in oversized boxes with p acking materials that I need to break down and recycle. The cartridges are exactly the ones that fit my Litter Genie Plus. I have two (one for each litter box) and two cats. I figure I am all set for about a year or so. Each cartridge is supposed to last up to two months with one cat. I empty my indoor genie once a week on trash pickup day. The second one in the garage for the lessor used litter box goes out as needed. I am in Califorina where we have a bag ban so I can't get free grocery bags anymore and would have to buy bags anyway. The Litter Genie just makes the process so much easier. Read more

Works. So. Stinking. Well. Really. Traps. The. Smell.
5/ 5stars

All these refills will last you forever!!! I have two giant cats and am on my first refill and its been over a month. I have had to dispose of a full bag but my first cartridge is still rocking more plastic!I originally thought these were one and done toss cartridges but no they are not. You cut the top of the bag when it fills and tie a knot and keep using until the plastic runs out.I bought the 12 pack refill cartridges because people were saying 1 cartridge lasted 1 month for 1 cat....but I mustve misread because that is not the case. Obvious review.
5/ 5stars

Ok this review isn't so much about the 12 pack of refill liter liners. But more about how amazing the litter genie itself is. We have 6 cats in our home and a revolving door for foster cats and bottle babies, we have 9 litter boxes in a few different areas and 5 litter genies as well. THEY CHANGED O UR LIFE. Maintaining litter boxes has never been easier or more cleanly. No more scooping into Kroger bags to realize there was a tiny tear and no more smell! It traps the odor wonderfully. We empty the bins every 2-3 days but in a house with less cats I'm sure you could do it weekly. Read more

A Nice Alternative to Plastic Bags
4/ 5stars

We have used these inserts for about five years now with three Litter Genies we have. They work quite well. Here are a couple of tips for use. 1. Take your time starting each one. You have to very carefully pull out just the very end of the continuous loop and it's sometimes hard to find the end. 2. They suggest tying a knot at the end to start each bag. This is really a waste of an expensive product. We use a twist tie to start each bag. That way you use way less product. Read more
