Greenies. Not even once.
5/ 5stars

I don't know what they're putting in these, but my cat can't get enough of them. My family has the dog branded Greenies for our family pet, and he's a fan. I figured I would stick with the brand, and see if my cat took to them as well. You can't so much as think about the bag, before you hear the sof t pitter patter of a cat frantically tearing across the house to the bag. They're low calorie, so I like using them for training, or a just-because treat. They're also good motivators for my pet when doing unpleasant tasks (like administering medication, trimming nails, etc), but my cat is very, very food motivated.I now have a subscription to these. My cat is making me do that. Send help. Read more

Hairy Situation avoided
4/ 5stars

I haven't used them enough to know for certain how well they're working, but it's coming up on spring and I'll find out over time if this helps prevent hairballs as their summer coat comes in. My cats love them just a much as any other treat, but I would warn against giving them too many. Some of th e reviews state they'll make your cat throw up, but I honestly only think that happens if you feed them to your cats continuously. Due to the type of treats, and what they're suppose to do of course your cat will throw up if you feed them an entire bag. I only give them to my cats sparingly and regular treats most of the time. Just like any other hairball treatment, you wouldn't give it to them everyday, multiple times a day... unless you have a long haired cat that always has a problem with hairballs. Just be smart about these SMART Bites. ) Read more

This IS a good product!
5/ 5stars

What works for one cat, may not work for all. Same goes with humans. Each system has different tolerances and allergies/ sensitivities. Works great for my three girl cats but then again, they all vary opinions when it comes to taste.Dont take the negative reviews to heart not everyone will like the same thing, and SOMEONE is ALWAYS going to find fault with SOMETHING...thats just how the work turns. I think its great. But you dont have to take my word for it, or the people spewing negative reviews with jargon that literally is 100 opinion vs. factual evidence.Just as all of us are different so are our pets. Vomit inducing snacks should be pulled off Amazon

Within 20 minutes of eating these, my cat got sick. I followed her around for 10 minutes cleaning up her vomit.

It really works with my long-haired cat
5/ 5stars

I've tried several different hairball remedies, and none worked especially well with my long-haired Maine Coon. Then I tried these, and they DO indeed work, though the instructions here require a bit more care than others, as they say to feed 11 pieces throughout the day. On days that I work, that m eans 4 with his morning meal, 4 with his evening meal and 3 as a late evening snack. When I'm home, I feed fewer pieces more frequently. If you can remember to do that, you should find there are fewer hairball throw-ups around the house as I did. Read more

Read the 1 star reviews before buying these...I wish I had...
1/ 5stars

I purchased these Smartbites after my 2 cats rejected Catlax (another hairball remedy). Overall, the rating on this product is 4 1/2 stars, so I read a few of the recent reviews and thought Great! Over the course of a few weeks, we finished off the first bag, with a noticeable improvement in hairbal ls. So, I bought a 2nd bag. I would agree with other reviewers that these things are like cat crack. My cats reacted to these treats so much stronger than their normal treats. After a few days on the 2nd bag, I noticed that their food bowls (both canned dry) food, seemed to be barely untouched at the end of the day when normally, it's gone by noon. Then I started noticing, small throw-ups all around the house with a frothy saliva consistency. They still wanted their Smartbites, though. I thought perhaps there was something wrong with their food. The next day, the food boycott continued with more of those saliva throw-ups. I was starting to worry. Later in the day, I saw one of my cats violently throw up what looked like bile mixed with those treats. The lightbulb finally came on. I went back and read all of the 1 star reviews, and sure enough, other cats had the exact same symptoms. Then I googled Greenies smartbites bad for cats and found a web site that had hundreds of stories about cats and dogs sickened by these treats. I felt like throwing up. I immediately threw them in the trash, and the vomiting ceased. It took 4-5 days for their appetites to fully return. So, please use extreme caution if you decided to try these. I wish I had. Rash on faces after beginning a bag of tuna flavor
1/ 5stars

I gave 3-5 of these daily to my indoor cat for a week or so when I noticed small angry deep red puss-filled sores on the skin area below his ears above his eyes. Since this was the only new thing in his life I stopped the treats took him to the vet, who diagnosed food sensitivity after blood work ne gative results on fungal testing. The sores healed with the help of a vet med cream. So I decided to give a few of the remaining treats daily to my semi-feral outdoor kitty. Within a week he had the exact same ugly rash!!! This is NOT a food allergy! I believe this stuff is POISON. Unfortunately, I threw the whole bag and remaining treats out before I thought to contact Greenies, the manufacturer. Please do not put your angels through this. Read more

Cough cough blegh
5/ 5stars

There is nothing worse than getting out of bed in the morning to step in your cats' nasty hairball. As much as I love my kitty there's nothing I hate more than hearing that sound that she's about to upchuck a hairball. She doesn't do it very often but when she does, she does it with style. I brush h er every other day and when I started her on the Hairball regime within an hour she was coughing up a glorious nasty ball of muck. But since then no problems. She loves the way that these taste and as soon as I say it's time for treats she's willing to sit, high-five, twirl, and give kisses. I highly recommend these for anyone then never wants to step in their cat's vomit again. Read more

pretty sure these treats are at least 50 of the reason my cat likes me
5/ 5stars

my 1.5 year old maine coon is both a walking hairball (see picture) and the pickiest eater i have ever encountered. when i give her food (high-quality wet OR dry), she typically will sniff the bowl then walk away, perhaps coming back a few times throughout the day to nibble at it. she AIN'T IMPRESSE D no matter what. that being said, i have made it a routine for the past 5 months (when i adopted her from an animal shelter) to give her a little daily combo of the Greenies Hairball Control, Greenies Dental Treats, and Greenies Skin Fur. she FREAKS OUT over these treats and comes running if i even go NEAR the area where i keep them.i really like that you can somewhat substitute dry food with these (they contain complete nutrition requirements in themselves), so i don't feel like i'm just enabling a future fat cat. as for the hairball control aspect, she has only had one or two hairballs in the past 5 months (since she has been taking them. considering she has a coat like a lion and grooms herself pretty much all day, i find this to be very impressive. she also has not had any stomach issues / unusual poos, which i was worried about initially. she loves every flavor of these things, but i think tuna is the favorite. you can't go wrong with these. your cat will love you and possibly also sit on your face every morning to wake you up to feed them to her/him. Hairball control at a good price, and he likes them!
5/ 5stars

We have a very large cat (18 pounds and 43 from tip of tail to tip of nose) and he has very long fur. It takes two of us to administer hairball medicine that comes in a tube. He does not like the taste and will run and hide if he thinks we are going to give him medicine. With his long hair, he has p lenty of ammunition for lots of fur balls. We have been giving these to him for 1 1/2 months, and he has only had one fur ball during that time. He likes them and eats them as quickly as I put them out for him. It is a treat to him. I'm not sure why you are supposed to give him a few at a time throughout the day, but I give him four at a time, three times a day. We are very pleased with Feline Greenies Smartbites Hairball Control. They also have a decent price. Read more
