This tool works good. I do have a couple issues I would like to share. First is the sticker location. I can not imagine anyone trying to use any tool without removing the stickers, and this one is a must. Remove the plastic film over the sticker, then soak the paper sticker in goo-off, or glue strip per. Do not use a metal scraper, or you will scratch the surface of this cheap pan. Polish the bottom surface, as this is your last change to do so. Second issue this is advertised as a metal tray. Sheet metal is never aluminum in America, it is steel. This is made of soft, thin aluminum, so it will bend, dent and scratch very easily. The good news is, it will not rust. This is not a tool that will take any abuse, but it works. We have a German Shepherd who produces a lot of waste. For years we have been using the YardPup dog waste pickup system, which uses old grocery bags. This product stays outside in the weather and after over 8 years it still performs well. Problem The grocery bags. We want to get away from using plas tic grocery bags for anything. I haven't found a compostable/biodegradable bag that will sustain the elements for about a week to replace them in the YardPup. So we came up with another idea. We will be using the 5 gallon pedal bin, with the 7 gallon biodegradable bags lining the inside bucket and the metal tray/rake system to collect the waste. This is a high quality sturdy set and, it's attractive - attractive as a pooper scooper can get, with natural wood and aluminum. However, like so many products, it has a nearly impossible to remove advertising label on the shovel itself. I can't live with advertising so I went to work to remove it.T he label has plastic sheeting which must be peeled away before proceeding. Next, hot water does not phase it, nor does boiling water. Wet the area for a few minutes, drain and overspray WD-40 on the label.. Using a dry paper towel, rub the label off, inch by inch until removed. You may want to get the coffee brewing and turn on an audio book you've been wanting to hear - this will take awhile.To the manufacturer - you have a wonderful product, please do not ruin it by affixing this type of label. A simple ad label affixed to the handle with string would be a far better option and save us from spending our Saturday afternoon breathing WD-40 fumes, bent over the kitchen sink! Thank you. Love it, love it, love it! We have a Great Dane that poops mountains and a Boston Terrier. It was time to replace our old pooper scooper and after much debate, we settled on this product. I hate the scoopers with claw handle because I feel like they always break, but that seems to be all the rage ri ght now. It was hard finding a decently rated scooper that wasn't that style and even though this product had few reviews, we decided to give it a try. It worked amazing and I don't know why we didn't upgrade sooner. Our old scooper has a smaller tray and instead of a rake it has a plastic piece with a flat scraping surface. It was hard to get poop that is stuck in the grass but with the rake, the metal phalanges get between the grass and easily scoop out the crap and the tray is the perfect size, not too big or too small. I love it and if you are in the market this is a great option.***Update***I have now been using this six months and I like it just as much now as I did when I initially bought it. It still works great and it has proven to be durable over time. Great product! Read more

Durable and Works Better Than the Claw

I own a large jaw-type scoop that worked great, but the plastic handle broke. My smaller jaw scoop has tiny teeth, so it pulls the grass out and leaves a lot of residue. This rake snd scoop set works better than either one, and holds 5 times more waste. I was skeptical about the rake, but it flips t he dog doo into the scoop easily from grass or concrete. Even old piles come out of the grass easily, just like raking up a damp leaf. It's all metal and wood, so it's worth the extra money over a plastic scoop. Read more

I mean really!! Can you get anything quality and well made under 20 bucks today Nope... wrong! You can and this is it! Dont waste your on them plasticky claw pickers that get the tines filled with well you know what and they keep breaking and a nightmare to clean. This thing is solid! Metal tray! Me tal rake tines! Metal screws holding the wooden handles! Damn! It can even be fixed if the neighbor stumbles over it in a drunken stuper. Im tall and hate short handheld things that make me bend over... not this one! I was was just outside picking up after my fluff ball pooch and my back is not even aching!This is the best 20 i have spent in loooooong time! This is a MUST have for all dog pooper scooper people! I have 3 dogs, one of which wins the award for most poops to be pooped in a day! (And he's a big dog) I originally bought this because using a shovel really hurts my back. Being all hunched over. I do not have to bend anymore and it is wonderful . (As far as poop scooping can be!) I do have some advice however for using this tool. 1. Poop scooping should be done EVERYDAY! Oh My lands it adds up if you dont! 2. Do not be overly aggressive in your raking of the poo into the shovel. If you are over zealous it can actually fling onto your shoe or leg! 3. Before spending 10 minutes trying to pick up one stubborn turd... make sure that it is indeed a turd, and not a pine cone! The shovel can hold quite a load. And the rake is sturdy. As soon as it was delivered, I went out to the dog run in my backyard for poop patrol and was pleasantly pleased with how well the rake worked to locate old poop that was hidden in the grass by simply raking across the grass. It was nice to not have to bend over while using this combo. This is a nic e product but the price needs to be lowered.
